If home life for a kid is tumultuous then his or her grades will suffer. That is the general consensus among psychologists. There are exceptions but in general this is the case. Parents go through divorces, change jobs, relocate many states away, it all adds up to uncertainty. This is where a private boarding school can come into play.
Whether it be a Christian boarding school, non-denominational boarding school or even a military school, boarding schools offer the stability and structure young people need to succeed. How many people do you know that perhaps would’ve had a better life or career had they been put on the right path during these formative years?
If a student does not learn good habits at a young age, they will never be able to finish undergrad or even a graduate degree. After all, habits make the person. It doesn’t matter how smart you are or naturally gifted, without good habits, you will not reach your true potential.
It’s true that these schools can cost a great deal of money. But you also have to factor in the fact that your child will not be at home therefore you won’t have to feed and house them most of the year. Also, schools where they have uniforms don’t put the peer pressure on a student to keep up with the latest trends and expensive clothing lines.
